One more thing to add to the list of things to love about Berlin is how easy it is to get out to the countryside and visit some of our local farms. Today we went to the Hofladen (farm shop) at Neumanns Erntegarten, had a wonderful walk through fields that are just starting to turn green, and ate a fantastic meal at a restaurant in a stone tower. It's easy to get to Neumanns Erntegarten, just take the S-Bahn to the Potsdam Hauptbanhof and get on the 614 bus. The Heineberg stop is right in front of the entrance to the Hofladen, and once you have checked out their beautiful selection of produce, cheese, meat, dairy, eggs, and wine you can walk back to town through the fields.The apples looked so good and had such an incredible scent that I think we will have to include them in our menu for the 27th.
